Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Share prices on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) declined in the fluctuating market on Tuesday as banking issues lost more than two per cent.
The market was undergoing securities regulator's frequent interventions to cool off and it flipped between negative and positive, as it soared 45 points in the morning but went on a steady decline starting at noon, market operators said.
The benchmark DSE General Index (DGEN) shed 38.24 points or 0.60 per cent to end at 6287.53 on the day, after gaining more than two per cent on Monday.
The broader DSE All Shares Price Index (DSI) was down by 0.60 per cent or 31.56 points to 5227.71, while DSE 20 comprising blue chips ended at 3691.04 with a fall of 13.54 points or 0.36 per cent.
There was no trade on Wednesday due to public holiday on the occasion of holy Shab-e-Barat.
