Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - The newly listed Shasha Denims Limited dominated the week’s top turnover chart on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) last week that ended on Thursday.
A total of 20.23 million shares worth BDT 776.54 million were changed hands last week. Daily average turnover for the company was BDT 155.30 million.
Shasha Denims which made debut on March 5, closed its share price at BDT 38.7 on Thursday, gaining 4.31 percent over the previous week.
Shasha Denims is the 39th listed firm under the textile sector on the DSE that accounts for around 3.50 per cent of the DSE’s total market capitalisation.
Of the total shares – 46.28 percent held by sponsor-directors, 7.84 percent by institutional investors and 45.88 percent held by public, according to DSE website information.
The company has reported basic earning per share (EPS) BDT 0.98 for nine months period (January’14 to September’14) and net asset value (NAV) per share BDT 45.68.
Shasha Denims Ltd (SDL) is one of the leading denims fabric producers in Bangladesh since 2000. SDL is located at Dhaka Export Processing Zone (DEPZ), according to the company’s website.
The week’s other turnover leaders include SPCL BDT 719.80 million, IFAD Autos BDT 690.68 million, Lafarge Surma Cement BDT 592.23 million were changed hands followed by GP BDT 472.74 million, ACI BDT 451.52 million and Summit Alliance Port BDT 410.35 million.
The shares of Square Pharma also came to the list as shares worth BDT 400.40 million were changed hands while Beximco Ltd BDT 283.4 and MJL BDT worth BDT 250.72 million changed hands during the week.
