Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Celebrated Indian music composer and singer AR Rahman made a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official Ganobhaban residence in Dhaka on Tuesday.  

Rahman is in the capital city to perform at the opening ceremony of the ICC T20 World Cup in Dhaka billed for March 13.  

The prime minister highly appreciated the talents of AR Rahman, PM’s Special Assistant Mahbubul Hoque Shakil told reporters after the meeting.

Sheikh Hasina lauded the role of AR Rahman in introducing the music of this subcontinent to global arena.  

PM’s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, Sheikh Rehena’s son Radwan Mujib Siddiq and his wife Peppi Siddiq, BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon, PM’s Special Assistant Selima Khatun and Mahbubul Hoque Shakil, were present on the occasion. 

 The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is organising the mega celebration concert on Thursday, March 13 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium — bringing two major names of world music today to the Dhaka audience: AR Rahman and Akon.
