Shopping centers must be closed by 8pm from Friday

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– The authorities will strictly ensure the closure of shopping centers by 8.0 pm from April 1 (Friday) to maintain power load management in the capital and elsewhere of Bangladesh.

The decision was taken at a meeting at the Power and Energy Ministry on Wednesday with State Minister Mohammad Enamul Haque in the chair.

Power Secretary Abul Kalam Azad, Energy Secretary Mesbahuddin and other top officials of different sub-ordinate bodies under the power and energy ministry attended the meeting.

The meeting was convened to discuss the load management in power supply during the ensuing Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination and ongoing irrigation for paddy fields, officials said.

Officials from different power distribution agencies claimed at the meeting that the power supply remained smooth in the irrigation areas according to the requirement.
