Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Siemens has developed a number of innovative solutions to cope with the new challenges that the energy systems are facing across the world, speakers said.
The observation was made at a seminar on “Siemens Intelligent Energy Management Systems for Your Plant” held at a local hotel recently.

The innovative solutions include a growing range such as the efficient transmission of bulk volumes of green power over long distances, enabling dedicated power exchange between power grids, connecting micro grids with the main grids.

The speakers explained how Siemens worked as the trusted partner for the development and extension of an efficient and reliable power infrastructure.

Siemens provides utility companies and industries with the portfolio that meets their needs, they said.

This includes facilities and systems for the low-voltage and distribution power grid level, smart grid and energy automation solutions, power supply for industrial plants, and high-voltage transmission systems.

Welcoming the audience, Indranil Lahiri, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Siemens Bangladesh Limited said that the Government of Bangladesh has given the highest priority for developing the energy sector and is committed to make electricity available to all by 2021.

He also said the Government has also taken various plans for the balanced development of energy sector to scale up power generation and to develop efficient power transmission and distribution systems. “You are the right people who could make the dreams come true.”

Dr. Alloum Ahmed from Siemens AG, Germany delivered a Key note speech on Medium voltage Systems and Solutions. Dr. Petr Rudenko, Head of Market Development on GIS, Siemens AG, Germany showed how Siemens produced and installed world best High Voltage GIS Substations and Switchgear.

Mr. Gia from Siemens Vietnam presented on Busway Systems, Sagar Saha from Siemens India presented his papers on Energy Automation and Systems.

Siddartha Gosh from Siemens India talked about High Voltage products for Substations.

Among others Aong Marma, Aminul Islam and Mihir Barua from Siemens Bangladesh presented their papers on the seminar.

Representatives from different utility sectors including Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB), Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB), Dhaka Power Distribution Company (DPDC), Dhaka Electric Supply Company (DESCO) and Rural Electrification Board (REB) and the Coal Power Generation Company Bangladesh Limited (CPGCBL) attended at the seminar, organized by the Siemens Bangladesh Limited.
