Signal No. 3 at Bangladesh maritime ports

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-All the maritime ports of Bangladesh have been asked to keep hoisted local cautionary signal No. three as a deep convection is continuing over North Bay and adjoining coastal areas.

The maritime ports are: Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra, said a special bulletin of Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.

Under the influence of the convection, squally weahter may continue over North Bay, adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh and the maritime ports.

The low-lying areas of the coastal districts of Cox’s Bazar, Chittagong, Noakhali, Laxmipur, Feni, Chandpur, Borguna, Bhola, Patuakhali, Barisal, Pirozpur, Jhalakathi, Bagherhat, Khulna, Satkhira and their offshore islands and chars are likely to be inundated by one to two feet height above normal astronomical tide under its influence, the special bulletin added.
