Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Jessore branch of Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited (SJIBL) organized a Women Entrepreneurs Conference and day-long handicraft exhibition at Jessore Municipal Community Centre Saturday.

Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr. Atiur Rahman was present as the chief guest. Presided over by Abdur Rahman Sarker, Managing Director, Shahjalal Islami Bank, the programme was addressed among, others by Deputy Commissioner, Jessore Mostafizur Rahman and Additional Managing Director of SJIBL Mukhter Hossain.

In his speech, the central bank chief said Jessore has a significant background in business. In handicrafts sector, Jessore Stitch has its own glory. Women entrepreneurs can play a key role in promoting Jessore Stitch brand into international arena, the BB governor added.

Dr. Atiur Rahman distributed SJIBL loans among 10 small women entrepreneurs at the programme. He also opened a day-long handicrafts exhibition made by small women entrepreneurs at the Jessore Municipal Community Centre in the morning.
