SPCBL to install machine for printing MICR bank cheques

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The Security Printing Corporation (Bangladesh) Limited (SPCBL) plans to install Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) code line printing machine soon for increasing capacity of printing MICR cheques of banks, officials said.
The SPCBL, a subsidiary organization of the Bangladesh Bank (BB), the country’s central bank, has already invited tender for supplying materials for MICR cheque printing machine, they added.
Currently, some private organizations are engaged in printing MICR cheques of schedule and private banks of the country.
The SPCBL is the only printing press in Bangladesh which prints various security items with a major portion of bank note production and government postal stamps.
