Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Shahjibazar Power Company Ltd (SPCL) dominated the week’s top turnover and gainer chart last week on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) that ended on Thursday.
A total of 3.25 million shares worth BDT 687.85 million were changed hands last week. Daily average turnover for the company was BDT 137.57 million.
The company’s share price closed at BDT 227.2 on Thursday, gaining 20.40 percent over the previous week.
The company also dominated the week’s gainer chart with 20.40 percent gain.
Of the total shares – 75.71 percent held by sponsor-directors, 5.54 percent by institutional investors and 18.75 percent held by public, according to DSE website information.
The company listed in the Dhaka bourse – DSE in 2014. The company is belonging to the fuel & power sector under the category of ‘A’.
The company disbursed 25 percent cash dividend and 5.0 percent stock dividend for the year ended on June 30, 2014.
The company has also reported net profit after tax of BDT 470.92 million, EPS of BDT 3.71, NAV per share of BDT 28.17 and NOCFPS of BDT 16.42 for the year ended on June 30, 2014.
Market insiders said that the company placed in ‘A’ category from existing ‘N’ category which was effect from March 05, 2015, which acted as catalyst for its price rise.
The week’s other turnover leaders include Lafarge Surma Cement with shares worth BDT 589.22 million were changed hands followed by SIBL BDT 497.90 million, Summit Alliance Port BDT 463.06 million and BSCCL BDT 402.46 million.
 
 The shares of newly listed Shasha Denims also came to the list as shares worth BDT 358.63 million were changed hands while Heidelberg Cement BDT 347.60 million, GP BDT 339.50 million, MJL BDT 298.23 million and Square Pharma BDT 275.52 million changed hands during the week.
