Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh Railway began selling the special train tickets from Thursday for Eid holidaymaker.
Under the arrangement, nearly 50,000 advanced tickets will be sold every day from 19 counters at the Kamalapur Railway Station, said Muzibul Haque Chunnu, the Railways Minister, while briefing the media at the station in Dhaka Thursday morning.
The minister visited the railway station ahead of the beginning the ticket sale which began at 9:00am today.
Bangladesh Railway will also provide 14 special train services across the country so that the holidaymakers could enjoy a hassle-free journey during the rush of Eid-ul-Fitr.
According to the calendar, the three-day Eid holiday is due to begin from July 17.
Meanwhile, like every year the Kamalapur Railway Station turned into a human sea as holidaymakers gathered there from Wednesday night to buy tickets.
The queues however became longer after Sehri time.
A person will be able to buy maximum four tickets.
The holidaymakers who want to travel on July 13 will have to buy tickets on July 9.
The tickets for July 14 to17 will be sold from July 10 to 13.
On the other hand, the return tickets from July 20 to 21 will be available on July 16 and 17.
Tickets for July 22 to 23 will be sold on July 19 and tickets for July 24 will be available on July 20.
Return tickets will also be available at Chittagong, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Khulna, Lalmonirhat and Dinajpur railway stations.
