Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd dominated the week’s top turnover chart on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) for the second consecutive weeks that ended on Thursday.
A total of 4.18 million shares worth BDT 1.03 billion were changed hands last week.
Daily average turnover for the company was BDT 206 million.
The week’s closing price of each Square Pharma share was BDT 247.8, registering an increase of 0.24 percent over the previous week.
The board of directors of the company has recommended 30 percent cash dividend and 12.50 percent stock dividend for the year ended on March 31, 2015. However, the final approval will come from the AGM scheduled to be held on September 16.
The company has reported consolidated EPS for April-June, 2015 was BDT 3.28 as against BDT 2.51 for April-June, 2014. Consolidated NOCFPS was BDT 3.11 for April-June, 2015 as against BDT 1.76 for April-June, 2014.
Consolidated NAV per share was BDT 59.38 as of June 30, 2015 and BDT 56.09 as of March 31, 2015.
Of the total shares – 54.21 percent held by sponsor-directors, 10.34 percent by institutional investors, according to DSE website.
Foreign investors held 15.05 percent shares while 20.4 percent share held by public, the website information said.
The company listed in the Dhaka bourse – DSE in 1995. The company is belonging to the Pharmaceuticals & Chemicals sector under the category of ‘A’.
The week’s other turnover leaders include Shahjibazar Power Compnay with shares worth BDT 938 million were changed hands followed by Lafarge Surma Cement BDT 722 million, Islami Bank BDT 639 million and United Power Generation & Distribution Company BDT 475 million.
Apex Tannery also came to the list as shares worth BDT 432 million were changed hands followed by FAR Chemicals BDT 391 million, GrameenPhone BDT 365 million, Al-Haj Textiles BDT 345 million and Baraka Power worth BDT 335 million changed hands during the week.
