Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations for 2017 began across the country on Thursday.
The exams started 10:00am on Thursday.
A total of 17,86,613 students — 9,10,501 male and 8,76,112 female — from 28,119 educational institutions is expected to take the exams at 3,236 centres.
Of them, 14,25,900 are appearing in the SSC examination under eight general education boards.
While 2,56501 in Dakhil under Madrasah Education Board and 1,4212 in vocational exam under Bangladesh Technical Education Board.
A total of 93 new exam centres have been set up as 1,35,090 examinees have increased this year, sources said.
Under the Dhaka education board, a total of 446 overseas students will also sit for the exams in eight overseas centres.
Creative question papers except Bangla 2nd paper, English 1st and 2nd papers will be held from this year.
The written examinations will end on March 2. Practical exams will start on March 4 and continue until March 11.
