Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Regional Chief Executive Officer (CEO) India and South Asia of Standard Chartered Bank Neeraj Swaroop will arrive in the city today (Monday) for a two-day official visit.
During his visit, Swaroop will meet regulators, several external stakeholders and senior officials of the bank, the bank said.
He joined Standard Chartered Bank as CEO, India, in August 2005. In his current role, he is responsible for Standard Chartered Bank's operations in India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Afghanistan, and Mauritius.
He is also the Chairman of Standard Chartered Nepal Limited.
Under his leadership, the banks in both Bangladesh and India won the prestigious 'Best Foreign Commercial Bank 2009' awards by FinanceAsia, in their Country Awards for Achievement category.
Swaroop's career spans over 26 years, with the last 17 years being spent in the Indian banking industry. He is a seasoned banker having worked previously with Bank of America and HDFC Bank.
