Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Jamie Kelly, Global Head of Legal and Compliance, Consumer Bank, Standard Chartered Bank will arrive in the capital Dhaka on Tuesday on a two-day official visit.

During his stay in Dhaka, he is expected to meet senior government and central bank officials and clients of the Bank. He will be accompanied by Ambrose Murphy, Head of Consumer Banking Legal & Compliance Middle East, Africa and South Asia, Head of Compliance in Africa, Middle East and Pakistan, Standard Chartered Bank.

Prior to joining the Bank, Mr. Kelly was at General Electric, where he held various roles including Senior Transactions Counsel, GE Asia, and General Counsel for GE’s Australia and New Zealand operations. Before General Electric, Jamie worked as legal counsel at Citibank, and gained his formative legal training at Freehills, a leading Australian law firm. Jamie received Bachelor of Economics and Law (Honours) degrees from Macquarie University in 1990, and has also completed post-graduate studies with the Securities Institute of Australia.

Ambrose Murphy joined Standard Chartered Bank as Head of Consumer Banking Legal and Compliance in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia in 2010. He has since also become Head of Compliance in Africa, the Middle East and Pakistan, and Head of Legal in Africa. He has previously worked at Citigroup, GE Capital and as a lawyer in private practice, in the US and Europe.
