Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) edged lower on Sunday, the first trading day of the week with turnover shrinkage further.

The benchmark general index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange ended at 4,123 points, shedding 9.98 points or 0.24 per cent.

On the other hand, CSE Selective Category Index dropped 28.60 points to close at 8,012.13.

Turnover value on the premier bourse stood at BDT 1.24 billion, 18.42 per cent down from previous session’s BDT 1.52 billion. The CSE turnover stood at BDT 168.45 million.

Out of 263 issues traded, 80 advanced, 142 declined and 41 remained unchanged. In the CSE, 40 advanced, 114 declined and 19 remained unchanged.

A total of 0.042 million trade were executed on the DSE with a 41.50 million trading volume.

United Airways topped the turnover chart with shares worth BDT 113.53 million changing hands.

Linde BD was the day’s highest gainer posting a rise of 6.30 per cent while AB Bank First Mutual Fund was the worst loser, slumping by 7.07 per cent.

Earlier on Thursday, the DGEN closed 10 points higher.
