Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Bangladesh’s stocks maintained the upward trend at midday on Wednesday as investors continued their buying spree on sector-wise stocks.
Following the previous five days’ correction, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed marginally higher amid low trading activities.
Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse gained more than 18 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse advanced 24 points at 10:45am.
After 30 minutes of trading, the DSEX advanced more than 20 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse rose 49 points at 11:00am.
After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX advanced more than 30 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index rose 84 points at 12:00 noon, when the report was filed.
DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5,235 points, gaining 30.85 points or 0.10 percent at 12:00 noon.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also advanced 5.88 points to reach at 1,848 points till then.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 5.95 points to stand at 1,206 points till then.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 1.90 billion when the report was filed at 12:00 noon.
Saiham Cotton Mills was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 153 million changing hands, closely followed by SK Thread Dyeing BDT 118 million, Sahsha Denims BDT 75 million, Intraco Refueling Tk 73 million, and Saiham Textile BDT 67 million.
Of the issues traded till then, 203 advanced, 67 declined and 47 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE
The port city’s bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE), also saw upward trend till then with CSE All Shares Price Index of port city’s bourse–advancing 84 points to stand at 16,064 points, also at 12:00 noon.
The Selective Categories Index of the port city bourse also rose 52 points to reach at 9,7,33 points till then.
Of the issues traded till then, 91 gained, 44 declined and 24 issues remained unchanged with BDT 95 million in turnover.
