Bangladesh’s stocks stay positive at midday on Sunday

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Bangladesh’s stocks stayed in the positive trend at midday on Sunday as some investors continued their buying appetite on sector specific stocks.

Following the previous week’s upward trend, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened positive in early trading amid rising trading activities.

Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced 12 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 22 points at 10:15am.

After first 30 minutes of trading, DSEX advanced more than 11 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 16 points at 10:30am.

But, the early enthusiasm somewhat slowed down as the session progressed.

After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX, the prime index of the DSE advanced 7.20 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse gained 6.08 points when the report was filed at 12:00 noon.

DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5,887 points, advancing 7.20 points or 0.12 percent at 12:00 noon.
The two other indices also stayed positive till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips advanced 3.84 points or 0.18 percent to reach at 2127 points.

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also stayed positive zone, advancing 3.08 points or 0.23 percent to reach at 1,315 points.

Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 2.97 billion, when the report was filed at 12:00 noon.
Appollo Ispat Complex was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 188 million changing hands, closely followed by BBS Cables BDT 175 million, IFAD Autos BDT 167 million, Keya Cosmetics BDT 130 million, and Fu-Wang Food BDT 98 million.

Of the issues traded till then, 150 advanced, 110 declined and 62 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) saw positive till then with its Selective Category Index – CSCX –advancing 6.08 points to stand at 11,019 points, also at 12:00 noon.

Of the issues traded till then, 73 gained, 80 declined and 27 issues remained unchanged with BDT 223 in turnover.
