Stocks open with sluggish trend

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): Trading on the Dhaka Stock Exchange started with a negative note Wednesday, maintaining previous session sluggish trend.

After 45 minutes of trading, the benchmark General Index, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange went down by 9 points or 0.21 per cent to stand at 4,182.

Turnover is very slow as it stands at BDT 130 million after 45 minutes of trading.

Of the issues traded, 27 advanced, 95 declined and 30 remained unchanged till the report was filed at about 11.15am.

Beximco Pharma topped turnover chart with shares worth BDT 14 million changing hands.

Earlier, Tuesday, the DGEN lost 28 points.
