Bangladesh’s stocks up at opening on Wednesday

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Bangladesh’s stocks witnessed upward trend in early hour of trading on Wednesday as investors were active in sector specific large-cap stocks.
After facing mild correction in the two consecutive sessions, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened positive amid slow trading activities.
After first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse rose 13 points while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse advanced 12 points at 10:45am when the report was filed.

DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went up by 13 points or 0.22 percent to reach at 5,832 points, when the report was filed at 10:45am.
The two other induces also saw positive trend till then. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips rose 6.12 points or 0.28 per cent to 2,140 points.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 1.75 points or 0.13 percent to stand at 1,324 points
Turnover, the important indicator of the market, stood at Tk 742 million when the report was filed at 10:45am.

Of the issues traded till then, 119 advanced, 49 declined and 55 remained unchanged.
RAK Ceramics was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 95 million changing hands, followed by Unique Hotel BDT 48 million, IFAD Autos BDT 47 million, Brac Bank BDT 35 million and Aftab Automobiles BDT 32 million.
CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE
The port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) also saw positive trend with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – advancing 12 points to stand at 10,934 points, also at 10:45am
Of the issues traded till then, 30 gained, 14 declined and 14 issues remained unchanged with BDT 52 million in turnover.
