Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Bangladesh’s stocks maintained the positive trend at midday on Monday as optimistic investors continued their buying binge on sector-wise issues.

Following the previous day’s marginal gain, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed upturn amid low trading activities.

Within first 15 minutes of trading, the key index of the country’s prime bourse advanced more than 13 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse rose 15 points at 10:45am.

After 30 minutes of trading, the DSEX advanced more than 23 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse rose 30 points at 11:00am.

However, its slowed down some extent as the session progressed.

After 90 minutes of trading, DSEX advanced 13 points while the CSE All Shares Price Index rose 22 points at 12:00 noon when the report was filed.

DHAKA STOCK EXCHANGE
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE stands at 5,304 points, advancing 13.86 points or 0.26 percent at 12:00 noon.

The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also advanced 2.93 points to reach at 1,858 points. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) rose 2.40 points to stand at 1,228 points till then.

Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at BDT 2.15 billion when the report was filed at 12:00 noon.

Paramount Textile was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth BDT 118 million changing hands, closely followed by Advent Pharma, Keya Cosmetics, ML Dyeing and Khulna Power.

Of the issues traded till then, 168 advanced, 95 declined and 58 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.

CHITTAGONG STOCK EXCHANGE
The port city’s bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE), also saw positive trend till then with CSE All Shares Price Index of port city’s bourse–gaining 22 points to stand at 16,248 points, also at 12:00 noon.

The Selective Categories Index of the port city bourse also gained 11 points to reach at 9,848 points till then.

Of the issues traded till then, 76 gained, 57 declined and 11 issues remained unchanged with BDT 100 million in turnover.
