Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– At least people were killed and 15 others injured as violent storms swept in the country’s southwester Satkhira and Bagerhat districts Saturday morning.
Four people were killed and 15 others inured in lightning strike and wall collapse during the storm in Satkhira, according to reports.
Witnesses said the violent storm that roared through the district at about 9:30 also damaged standing Boro crops on vast tracts of land and uprooted many trees.
In Bagerhat, two people were killed when a violent storm lashed the district Saturday morning.
The storm also damaged 50 houses and standing Boro crops at Arjun Bahar and Kapalibandar villages in sadar upazila (sub-district) of the district.
