Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-The BNP-led 20-party alliance has extended its ongoing general strike till 6:00am Friday in Bangladesh demanding return of BNP leader Salahuddin Ahmed.
BNP Joint Secretary General Salahuddin Ahmed remained traceless since March 10 night.
The fresh political programme was announced when the country has been experiencing a 72-hour shutdown since 6:00am March 15.

Barkatullah Bulu, the newly appointed spokesperson of BNP and also the joint secretary general of the party, made the announcement through a press statement Tuesday.
His family alleged that law enforcers in plainclothes picked the leader up from his Uttara residence in Dhaka, a claimed that law enforcers rejected repeatedly.
Monirul Islam, joint commissioner of Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said they had no idea where Salahuddin was.
Salahuddin, a former state minister, by issuing press statements frequently called countrywide strike which Bangladesh has been witnessing since January 5.
On March 13, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia demanded a logical conclusion and a dialogue between her party and the government to resolve the crisis.
“The movement will continue until a logical conclusion is achieved. It will meet its desired goal immediately,” the BNP chief said while addressing at a press conference at her Gulshan office in Dhaka on March 13.
Bangladesh has been witnessing five-day-long general strike in each week since the February alongside the non-stop blockade of roads, rail and waterways.
Friday and Saturday are weekend in Bangladesh.
The BNP called the blockade demanding a fresh national election on January 5, the first anniversary of 10th general election in Bangladesh.
