Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Summit Power Ltd dominated the week’s top turnover and top gainer chart on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) last week that ended on Thursday.
A total of 37.66 million shares worth BDT 1.68 billion changed hands during the week.
Daily average turnover for the company was BDT 420.11 million.
The company’s share closed at 47.6 on Thursday, the last trading day of the week, registering an increase of 28.65 percent over the week.
The power sector company listed on the Dhaka bourse in 2005 and belonging to ‘A’ category.
The company has reported consolidated Net Profit after tax (excluding non controlling interest) from Jan15 to March15 was BDT 694.99 million with consolidated EPS of BDT 0.98 as against BDT 512.27 million and BDT 0.75 respectively for the same period of the previous year.
Of the total share – sponsor/directors held by 51 percent, institutions held 34 per cent while general public held 15 percent shares, according to DSE website information.
The week’s other turnover leaders were KPCL BDT 1.60 billion changed hands followed by Beximco BDT 1.15 billion, United Power BDT 769.65 million, GP BDT 761.16 million and Saif Powertech BDT 731.90 million.
Summit Purbanchol Power Company also came to the top turnover list with shares worth BDT 730.29 million changed hands followed BSCCL BDT 729 million, RAK Ceramics BDT 703.67 million and Baraka Power worth BDT 685.16 million changed hands last week.
