Sweater factory catches fire in Bangladesh

Gazipur, Bangladesh (BBN)– A sweater factory was gutted in a fire at Chhoidana Hajipukur area in Gazipur city early on Tuesday, officials said.
The fire broke out in Priti Sweater Factory on the top floor of an eight-storey building around 4:00 am (local time), M Hasibur Rahman, station officer of the Joydebpur Fire Service Station, said.
He said also machinery, clothes and other valuables of the factory were damaged in the fire.
On information, 12 firefighting units from different fire service stations, including Gazipur, Joydebpur, Tongi and Uttara rushed in and put out the fire around 6.00am.
The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
