Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Income tax fair has drawn huge response from the taxpayers across the country enabling the government to collect BDT 2.62 billion income tax in the last three days, officials said.
The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has received online tax returns from 25,392 taxpayers and issued Taxpayers Identification Number (TIN) from 4528 people until Tuesday.
The Income tax fair began on September 16 this year in seven divisions and 11 districts of the country. It will conclude on September 22 in seven divisions and on September 20 in 11 districts.
According to the NBR data, a total of 84,581 people have obtained services from the fair in the last three days.
People have expressed their satisfaction over systematic procedure of payment of tax through online, they said, adding that some taxpayers also appreciated the tax calculator.
