Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has extended the deadline for submission of income tax returns by two days to October 2 instead of September 30.
The taxpayers can now submit their income tax return until Sunday as the deadline falls on Friday and Saturday.
The decision was taken on Wednesday, Syed A Amin, a spokesman for NBR reportedly said, adding that the taxpayers will get two more days due to the weekend.
The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBBCI), Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) and other trade bodies have already urged the NBR to extend the timeframe by one month.
