Taxmen to receive tax returns up to 8:00 pm Sunday

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Income tax offices will remain open up to 8: 00 pm Sunday (October 16) to receive tax returns.

“All tax offices will remain open up to 8 pm Sunday because we usually face a huge rush of taxpayers on the last day of return submission,” a senior official of the National Board Revenue (NBR) said.

He also said 0.8 million people submitted income tax returns till Thursday and NBR has realized income tax amounting to BDT 10.00 billion.

“The NBR hopes total figure of tax return submission would cross one million this year,” the official added.

The NBR extended income tax return submission deadline to October 16 from October 2 because of the pressure of the trade bodies and request from individual taxpayers.
