Chittagong, Bangladesh (BBN)– Demand was very strong for clean liquoring types but plainer varieties were often easier with fair withdrawals in the weekly tea sale on Tuesday.
Blenders and packers were quite active with more interest from the loose tea section of the buyers, market operators said, adding that there are once again some interests from Pakistan. Better liquoring dusts were again a stronger market at dearer rates.
CTC Leaf: 25,951 packages on offer met with very strong demand at much higher rates.
Brokens: All god and clean liquoring types were generally a met with strong competition and substantially dearer and these realized prices between BDT 185 and BDT 198. Plainer varieties were easier and there was fair withdrawals in this category particularly the poor liquoring types.
Fannings: Clean liquoring fannings were strong feature of the market and these could be quoted between BDT 182 and BDT 190. Medium were fairly firm while plainer varieties were often easier with some withdrawals in the poorer liquoring category.
CTC Dust: 5150 packages of old season on offer met with strong demand at generally dearer markets.
