Technical glitch halts Bangladesh’s prime stock market trading over 2hrs

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Share trading on the country’s prime stock market –Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) –halted for nearly two and half hours on Sunday after five minutes of trading following a technical glitch.

“Due to technical problem, today's (April 13, 2014) market has been halted around 10:35am. Starting time of trading at DSE will be announced later,” said a statement posted on DSE website.

However, trading on the port city bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) was continued as usual and witnessed positive trend at early session. 

The Selective Category Index --- CSCX gained 10.43 points to stand at 8,911.14 points, at 11am after first 30 minutes of trading.

Of the issues traded till then, 31 gained, 31 declined and 12 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 37.16 million.
