Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has decided to suspend trading at the country’s premier bourse for Tuesday as Monday’s trading still remained unsettled due to technical glitch.
The decision was taken following an urgent board meeting Tuesday morning, a DSE senior official told BBN in Dhaka, adding that the DSE authorities decided to keep the transaction suspended until the technical glitch in the software for electronic share transaction is fixed.
The Central Depository of Bangladesh Limited (CDBL), which operates the Central Depository System for the transaction, has been trying to solve the problem.
After every day’s stock trade, the transactions are settled with CDBL.
The malfunction results in incompleteness in trading settlement, MH Samad, managing director and chief executive officer of the CDBL, said earlier.
He also informed that they had already informed the Securities and Exchange Commission, the stock market regulator, about the issue.
