Teesta water important to both countries: Minister

New Delhi, India (BBN)-Abdul Latif Siddiqui, telecommumications minister of Bangladesh, has said that Teesta water is important to both Bangladesh and India.

“Teesta water is important to both of us,” he said during a CII session, reports The Business Line.

However, when reporters sought a clarification from him, the Minister denied to comment.

“What I said was more emotional than political. First of all, Teesta water sharing is not my department, I handle IT,” he said.

Asked if he would meet any of the Bengal Cabinet Ministers, he replied in the negative.
