Textile factory catches fire in Bangladesh

Gazipur, Bangladesh (BBN)-A devastating fire broke out at a textile factory in Gazipur, a central district of Bangladesh, Saturday morning.

No injury was reported when the report was updated around 1:00pm.
The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately, Farhaduzzaman, an official at Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters in Dhaka, told the BBN.
The fire broke out around 7:30am at the two-storey warehouse of Kader Synthetic Fibers Factory in Konabari of Gazipur Industrial belt and soon engulfed the entire building, witnesses said.
A huge column of smoke billowing up from the factory scene stretched on a huge area, they added.
Fourteen units from the different Fire Service and Civil Defence stations including Gazipur, Tongi, Savar, Mirzapur were working relentlessly to control the fire.
