Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– A three-day fair titled ‘Destination Thailand Fair in Bangladesh 2010’, organized by the Thai embassy in Dhaka and its partners began Thursday on the embassy premises in the capital.

The purpose of the fair is to enhance the existing friendly relation between Thailand and Bangladesh by promoting Thailand as a grand destination for Bangladeshi travellers for healthcare, tourism, higher education and business purposes, the organizers said.

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister GM Quader inaugurated the fair on the day as the chief guest.

Thai Ambassador to Bangladesh Tasanawadee Miancharoen delivered the welcome speech while other high officials, both from the embassy and the ministry, were present on the occasion.

The fair is divided into six zones namely travel, education, healthcare, food, shopping and recreation.

The visitors will be offered free tourist and medical visa on the spot; chances to win free return tickets to Bangkok and other prizes; discounts and special deals for tickets, holiday and medical packages to Thailand; shopping of Thai products at special prices; free consultation on highereducation in Thailand; sumptuous food from leading Thai restaurants in Dhaka and demonstration of Thai traditional massage.

The fair will be open to the general public from 10:00 am till 8:00 pm and no entry fee will be required.
