Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The Thailand Trade Show 2013 will be inaugurated on March 7 at Pan Pacific Soanargaon Hotel in the capital Dhaka aiming to strengthen bilateral trade relations between the two countries.
A total 47 Thai manufacturers and exporters will display their products in 10 categories in the two-day show, the organizers said. 
The participating companies will exhibit their products including auto parts and accessories, construction materials, hardware and machinery, electronic, fashion jewellery, food and beverage, garments and fashion accessories, gift and decorative items, health beauty, hospital and wellness, household and kitchenware, leather and footwear items.
Industries minister Dilip Barua is scheduled to inaugurate the show at 10:30am on March 7.
Thai ambassador Madurapochana Ittarong, minister counselor (commercial) Usa Wijarurn, Thai Airways International, Dhaka general manager Charoenchai Laksanakorn will also be present at the inaugural ceremony.
It will remain open for public from 10:00am to 8:00pm on 8-9 March.
The bilateral trade was $851.4 million in 2012, an increase by 105.76 per cent, according to official figures. 
Bangladesh exports yarn and fibres, finished oils, garments, fresh aquatic animals, fertiliser to Thailand while imports polymers of ethylene, cement, woven fabrics, chemical product, synthetic filament and staple fibres, yarn and man-made filaments, machinery and parts.
The Thai embassy, in collaboration with Sonargaon Hotel, will also launch a weeklong food promotion namely ‘Thai Food Festival 2013’. The food festival will continue till March 13.
The food festival is supported by Thai Airways International to promote Thai cuisines to spread the real taste of authentic Thai foods.
