Thailand swine flu death toll rises to nine

Bangkok, Thailand (BBN)- Thailand confirmed two more deaths caused by the deadly A (H1N1) influenza virus, taking the total swine flu deaths to nine, a deputy minister said.

A 58-year old man was suffering from liver complexity and died on Monday night after testing positive for the H1N1 strain of the flu virus, Deputy Public Health Minister Manit Napamornbodi confirmed.

The deputy minister said an 8-year-old girl also died of swine flu on Tuesday.

The country’s first H1N1 death was recorded on June 22 this year. A total of 2,428 cases have been confirmed so far. The vast majority have already recovered.
