Third namaj-e-janaza of Saifur held in Dhaka

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – The third namaj-e-janaza of former finance minister M Saifur Rahman was held at south plaza of parliament in the capital, Dhaka after Zohr prayers.

Earlier, his first and second namaj-e-janazas were held at Gulshan Azad Mosque at about 11:00am (local time) and in front of BNP central office at Naya Paltan at about 12:30pm (local time).

Hundreds of people, including BNP leaders and workers, attended the janazas.

Janazas will be held also at Shahi Eidgah Maidan in Sylhet at 1:00pm tomorrow (Monday) and at Moulvibazar Government High School ground before burial.

Saifur will be buried Monday at Baharmardan after the janazas.

The veteran BNP leader died on Sunday in a car crash on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Brahmanbaria. He was 77.
