Threat to journalist Halim Azad condemned

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Jatiya Kabita Parishad (JKP) on Friday strongly condemned the threat on life of poet and senior journalist Halim Azad by Nasim Osman MP of Narayanganj at district Deputy Commissioner's (DC) office recently.
In a statement, JKP president Poet Habibullah Siraji and general secretary Poet Aslam Sani expressed grave concern over the threat to a noted freedom fighter.
Poet Halim Azad is a Deputy Chief Reporter (DCR) of the national news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) and also Publicity and Research Secretary of Kabita Parishad.
They demanded exemplary punishment of Nasim Osman who gave the threat to poet Halim in front of some people who joined a meeting at Naryanganj DC office.
Terming the incident as an uncivilized act, they sought all-out security for Halim Azad and his family members.
