Three-day fair of locally produced items begins Bangladesh’s capital

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - A three-day long fair of locally produced items named 'Deshojo Ponno Mela' began in the capital Dhaka on Saturday.
Bangladesh Bank (BB) SME and Special Programme Department general manager (GM) Sukamal Singha Choudhury formally inaugurated the fair organized by Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BWCCI) at WVA auditorium in Dhaka.
The BB GM: "Among the entrepreneurs of this fair most of them have taken SME loans at 10 per cent interest from different banks. We have talked to the rest of the entrepreneurs and informed them about the SME loan facilities."
BWCCI founder president Selima Ahmed, BWCCI president Sangita Ahmed and some bankers were present at the fair.
Entrepreneurs have set up 24 stalls where they are displaying handicraft, home decorating items and readymade garment for ladies, gents and babies.
The entrepreneurs have come from Dhaka, Gazipur, Barisal, Rajshahi and Rangpur districts. The fair will be continued till Monday. 
The fair remains open from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.
