Three die, 30 missing after boat capsizes in northern Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- At least three people including a child died while 30 more went missing as a boat capsized in the River Padma at Hatpara area under Godagari upazila in Rajshahi on Saturday.
Local people said around 40 passengers were on the boat that capsized because of turbulent waves at about 12:30pm, according to reports.
The passengers, who hailed from Char Ashardiar, Char Mazardiar and others part of Godagari upazila, were going to the char areas.
Abu Mokaddem, officer-in-charge of Godagari police told New Age, a local newspaper, the law enforcers, along with fire service and civil defence men, continued their search to find the missing persons.
