Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – A section of shareholders of the Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Ltd (TGTDCL) on Tuesday strongly demanded change of its face value from BDT 100 to BDT 10 within a very short time.
The shareholders staged demonstration at the 29th annual general meeting of the company in the city demanding the change of face value as the stock price of the company fluctuated between the range of BDT 980 to BDT 1093 during the last 9 days, propelled by the rumour that the face value will be changed.
The chairman of the company and secretary of energy and mineral resources division Mohammad Mesbahuddin , however assured the shareholders that the decision on the issue will be taken very shortly.
The company in the AGM approved 25 per cent cash dividend and 10 per cent stock dividend for the shareholders.
The company sold 14,962.94 million cubic feet gas in 2009-10 and earned revenue worth BDT 63.79 billion which is 22 per cent higher than the previous fiscal year. 
The earning per share (EPS) is BDT 85.62 against per share worth BDT 100 in 2009 10 which was BDT 63.67 in 2008-09.
