Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The Parliament Secretariat Commission yesterday approved a budget of Tk 209 crore 61 lakh for the Secretariat for the next fiscal year.
The total amount was approved for both the development and non-development expenditures.
The approval came at the 25th meeting of the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat Commission held at the Sangsad Bhaban in Dhaka with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.
Committee member and Leader of the Jatiya Sangsad Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Leader of the Opposition Rawshan Ershad, Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Law and Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Haq were present.
Chief Whip ASM Feroz also attended the meeting on special invitation.
Of the proposed budget, Taka 196 crore 68 lakh has been approved for non- development portion and Taka 12 crore and 93 lakh for development portion, said an official release of the Jatiya Sangsad secretariat.
The meeting also approved 20 percent wage increase for the employees of the Sangsad secretariat.
The concerned officials of the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat including senior secretary M Ashraful Makbul and finance secretary Fazle Kabir were present at the meeting.
