Trade resumes at Benapole port

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Export-import trade between India and Bangladesh through Benapole land port resumed on Monday after a halt of four days, according to reports.

Trade came to a halt on Sunday following the introduction of a “car pass” system as Indian truck drivers declined to enter Bangladesh with their goods-laden vehicles under the new system.

To promote bilateral trade and connectivity between India and Bangladesh, a ‘car pass system’ was inaugurated at Petrapole on Saturday last.
