Trading on DSE, CSE resumes Sunday

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Trading and official activities at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) will resume tomorrow (Sunday) after a nine-day Eid vacation, officials said.
The trading on the bourses will begin at 10:30 am and continue till 2:30 pm while the office will begin at 9:30 am and continue till 5.30 pm.
Trading and official activities on the bourses remained closed from July 1 to July 9 on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Fitr, including weekly holidays, the biggest religious festival of the Muslims.
However, trading will remain open on July 16 (Saturday) on the bourses in line with all government offices including financial institutions, said a DSE statement.
DSE performed well on June 30, the last trading session before Eid vacation as well as the last trading session of the fiscal year 2015-16, taking the DSEX to four months high to 4,507.58, gaining 37.32 points or 0.83 percent.
The port city bourse CSE also ended higher with its Selective Categories Index- CSCX, surging 65.12 points or 0.78 percent to finish at 8,396.64 points.
