Train-bus collisions kill 13 in Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- At least 13 people were killed and over 40 injured in train-bus collisions in Comilla and Jessore districts of Bangladesh on Saturday.

In comilla, at least eight people were killed and over 25 others injured when a Dhaka bound express train rammed into a passenger bus at a level crossing near Shashidal rail station in Brahmanpara upazila Saturday morning.

Five people were killed and 15 injured as a train rammed a bus at Rajarhat Ramnagar rail crossing in Sadar upazila under Jessore district at about 9:00am (local time), police said.

A Khulna-bound intercity train hit a Satkhira-bound bus when it was crossing the unguarded Rajarhat Ramgarh level crossing, killing five passengers of the bus on the spot, a local police official reportedly confirmed.
