Train crash kills 2 in northern Bangladesh

Sirajganj, Bangladesh (BBN)-Two persons were killed and 30 injured as two trains collided head-on in Sirajganj, a northern district of Bangladesh, early Sunday.

The rail communications between Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, and the northern and southwestern part of the country remained suspend as seven compartments of the trains veered off the tracks following the accident.

Railway police said the collision took place around 3:30am when Dhaka-bound “Ekota Express” from Dinajpur crashed into Lalmonirhat-bound “Lalmoni Express” at Ullahpra Rail Station in Sirajganj.

The driver of “Ekota Express” drove the train on the rail track of stationed “Lalmoni Express” due to wrong signal, police added.
