Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – A daylong training program was held in Gulshan of Dhaka to strengthen the career of bankers working in Islamic banks.

The Islamic Banks Consultative Forum (IBCF) Research & Training Academy organised the programme on “Implementation of Basel–III in Islamic Banks: Issues & Challenges” on September 23.

During the programme, the chief guest expressed his deep satisfaction over the success and excellence of islamic banking in Bangladesh and advised the participants to become an ideal and world class banker through self learning initiatives & process, said a press statement of the IBCF.

Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed, chairman of Standard Bank Ltd, distributed certificates among the participants as the chief guest.

Twenty-one mid level executives of 10 Islamic banks participated in the training program.
Md Alamgir, associate professor of Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM), and Mahmudun Nabi, senior assistant vice president of EXIM Bank Ltd, were the key resources persons of the programme.
Abdur Rahman Sarker, secretary general of BAB & former managing director of National Bank Ltd & Shahjalal Bank Ltd, was present in the occasion as special guest.
On the other hand, A K M Nurul Fazal Bulbul, vice chairman of IBCF, presided over the certificate award distribution ceremony.
