Turkish Air starts Dhaka-Istanbul flights Sunday

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Turkish Airlines, the fourth biggest carrier network in Europe, is expanding its operation in the Asian sub-continent with an inaugural flight from Bangladesh capital Dhaka on Sunday.

The airlines will operate four flights per week - on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday - from Dhaka to Istanbul and from Istanbul to Dhaka via Karachi, and via Karachi on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

The airlines authority is going to announce its formal launch at a press conference on Sunday at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, the airlines officials said on Saturday.

Civil Aviation and Tourism Secretary Shafique Alam Mehdi, Turkish Ambassador to Dhaka Vakur Erkul, and Chairman of Civil Aviation Authority Air Commodore Mahmud Hussain will be present in the program.
