Turkish company to invest over $ 2.0 million in Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- A Turkish company will invest US$2.035 million by setting up a carpet manufacturing industry in Comilla Export Processing Zone (CEPZ) soon.

The Turkey`s M/s Star Carpet Private Limited will set up one of its unit in Comilla EPZ at a cost of $ 2,035m. The plant will manufacture all kinds of carpet items after going into operation.

By setting up the plant in CEPZ the company will create job opportunity for 689 Bangladesh nationals.

An agreement to this effect was signed between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and the Star Carpet Private Limited in BEPZA Complex in capital Dhaka.

Md. Moyjuddin Ahmed, member (investment promotion) of BEPZA and Sami Ismirli, Managing Director of Stara Carpet Private Limited signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations, a BEPZA announcement said on Tuesday.
