Two siblings killed in Bangladesh road crash

Comilla, Bangladesh (BBN)-Two brothers were killed when a covered van rammed a CNG-run- auto-rickshaw on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Comilla, an eastern district of Bangladesh, Sunday morning.

Three more passengers of the CNG-run- auto-rickshaw were also sustained injuries in the accident that took place around 6:00am at Daudkandi upazila in Comilla, local police said.

The accident took place when a Chittagong-bound speedy covered van collided head-on with a CNG-run-auto-rickshaw near Pannaigram in Daudkandi.

The two brothers died on the spot, police added.

On information, police rushed to the spot and rescued the injured.

The injured were undergoing treatment at Daudkandi Upazila Health Complex.

The police also retrieved the bodies and sent those to local hospital for autopsy.

Police also seized the vehicle, but its driver managed to flee the scene immediately after the accident.
