Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Ultratech Cement, an Aditya Birla Group Company, has organized a technical seminar at Hotel Westin in the capital Dhaka recently with eminent concrete technologist M.Shamim Z. Bosunia in the chair.
It was attended by100 leading builders, promoters and contractors, the organizers said, adding that the lead speaker Dr Muhnaz Ahmed Noor presented his talk on “Superiority of Blended Cement.”
The august gathering was welcomed by Dev Banerjed, Country Manager of the Ultratech.
He said that Ultratech Cement is a part of US$40 billion conglomerate of Aditya Birla Group anchored by 1,33,000 workforce belonging to 42 nationalities having presence in 35 countries.
Cement is a key business of the group and they are one of the top 10 companies of the world.
Bangladesh has recorded a healthy gross domestic product (GDP) for last few years and it cement consumption is approx 1.4 million metric tons per month.
During last two years, the country has registered growth of consumption about 15 percent year-on-year which makes it one of the fast growing countries in South East Asia.
The Ultratech wants to contribute effectively in this with their technical and marketing expertise as they come from a country of very identical topography.
